4.) Rich Knoblich, Professional Storyteller
Considered to be one of West Virginia’s finest storytellers, Rich Knoblich is the author of the book “Talking ‘bout the Relatives.” His original stories are inspired by Rich’s visits to his family’s old homestead, so his tall tales are set in actual locales in West Virginia. The events are often based on reality but loaded with plenty of embellishment. Rich’s tales have been published in various national and regional magazines. He has performed and entertained festival audiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Rich earned his Masters of Humanities Literature from California State University, and he is a member of the National Storytelling Network. Rich also served as president of the WV Storytelling Guild from 2002 to 2004. He provided the support article and story for the PBS television program “The Call of Story.” The article can be found here. Rich’s book, “Talking ‘bout the Relatives,” can be ordered through West Virginia Book Co. Rich appears on the Considering the Sequels Podcast for an interview in Episode 2.
