Missy Thompson is a film critic with four years experience, who never had any professional training before being offered the position. She fell in love with the profession as a 19-year-old college student writing for her hometown newspaper, the Tooele Transcript Bulletin in Tooele, Utah, where she is still employed. Missy took a handful of film courses at the University of Utah from where she has a degree in mass communication. Prior to being a film critic, Missy rarely saw films in theaters — the first being "Beauty and the Beast." She met her future husband at the film screenings when he worked as a studio representative. He now writes for blogcritics.org under the pseudonym Cinenerd. Missy appears on the Considering the Sequels Podcast as the special guest in Episode 4.
